The Combat Arena is a building that is released in the 4.5 Patch. It's part of the PvP system that allows players to play PvP in real time (Synchronous) against random players and friends, as well as Asynchronous against other players' defense armies, for Gold and Resources. It is unlocked at Level 5 along with the Battle Flag, which is also needed for PvP.
To participate in Asynchronous battles, players need PvP Energy which is generated by the Arena at a rate of 1 per hour. Since the 4.7 Patch, players can also acquire PvP Energy as a reward for winning battles in the Arena.
You ever think, 'You know, this Outpost is really missing an arena where we can enjoy friendly bloodshed with other Outposts without the commitment of a messy war?'
