- "This soldier LOVES to play with fire! He’s whipped together some Molotov Cocktails to turn the heat up on the enemy, and keep the heat coming as part of their DoT attacks."
- — 1.5 Patch Notes
Overview[]
The Arsonist is an Infantry unit introduced in the 1.5 Patch that can be trained at the Barracks.
The Arsonist has two weapons, the Molotov Cocktail and the SMG. The training cost is equal to that of a standard Trooper plus 2
Merits, which are obtained by assisting other players' Outposts.
The Molotov Cocktail: Firestarter ability targets a single enemy and has an Indirect line of fire, allowing it to be thrown over other units. While its initial damage is low, the 3-turn
Fire damage-over-time effect increases total damage output to levels comparable with other units of similar level. The SMG: Burst Fire ability also targets a single enemy, but has a shorter range of 1, a Direct line of fire, and less
Offense.
The combination of weapons positions the Arsonist as a front-line unit capable of applying damage at range with the Molotov Cocktail while engaging nearby enemies with the SMG. Low healing costs make the Arsonist a cost-effective option for frontline deployment. Placement in the second row limits the Arsonist’s ability to engage front-line targets directly, whereas other units such as the Grenadier may be more suited for long-range indirect attacks.
The player is given an Arsonist for free in the mission To the Rescue!
