Overview[]

The Deathmonger is a unit released in the 4.6 Patch and is the Top Guild reward in Arena Challenge 1. It surpasses the Warmonger and Painmonger, in terms of damage.

The Deathmonger has good resistances for all damage types, particularly -type damage. However, it can be easily dispatched by freezing. If the player does not have any freezing units available, an advised combat method would be to hit it with good piercing attacks, such as the second attack of the Legendary Sandworm. Still, this unit serves best in the front row.

Its first attack, Scatter Shot, deals loads of damage spread out over four squares, with the most damage being dealt to the middle two squares. This attack also hits air, so it should sufficiently take out most unarmored aircraft and shred the armor on tanks in the same turn. Players should note that this attack is random, so the damage is spread out randomly.

The second attack, Double Tap, deals a destructive amount of damage evenly across four squares arranged in a square pattern. This attack can be considered better than the first attack since it isn't random, the crit rates are higher against vehicles and soldiers, and the armor piercing is slightly higher. The only drawbacks are the higher reload and cool down times, and the 2-turn prep time.

The final attack, Shield Bash, is a down-the-line attack dealing even damage along the three squares, with a mild chance to stun for 3 turns. With a range of 1, this is the attack that requires the Deathmonger to be on the front lines to deliver his maximum payload. This attack is indirect, so a blocking unit will not stop the damage from continuing down the line.
