Overview[]

The Grenadier is an Infantry unit that can be trained at the Barracks.

The Grenadier deals Explosive damage with its Grenade and uses Indirect Line of Fire to target enemies in the second or third row, even when blocked by front-line units. It has limited ammunition capacity and long reload times, making it vulnerable when out of ammo.

At early levels, the Grenadier is an effective option against armored units such as Riot Troopers, and its capabilities expand with promotions and research.

At Rank 2, the Grenadier gains access to Grenade: Flashbang. It causes minimal damage, but in turn causes a 100% Stun effect to the target, with a reduced chance to affect units adjacent to the target. An additional Ability Slot also becomes available at this rank, allowing the unit to equip both Small Grenade and Flashbang simultaneously.

At Rank 3, the Grenadier gains access to Grenade: Incendiary Grenade. While it deals less immediate damage than Small Grenade, it causes additional damage over time due to its Fire damage-over-time. This attack has a 3-turn cooldown, limiting its frequency of use.

At Rank 4, the Grenadier gains access to Grenade: Handful of Grenades. It launches three separate grenades at the selected center space, with a chance for them to deviate to adjacent spaces. This attack has a high ammo cost that immediately sets the reload cooldown, but it has the potential to deal significant damage to a single target when all attacks land.

The player is given a Grenadier for free in the mission To the Rescue!

    Trivia[]

    • Despite the fact that there is a gas mask covering his entire face, the Grenadier is somehow able to pull out the pin of a grenade with his teeth.
    • The grenade bag is always full even when the Grenadier has no ammo.
    • Despite the fact that the Grenadier has 9 visible grenades, his ammo supply is always 3.
