Overview[]
The Heavy Grenadier is a premium Infantry unit introduced in the 3.5 Patch that can be trained at the Barracks.
True to its name, the Heavy Grenadier is a more powerful variant of the standard Grenadier. Instead of hand-thrown explosives, it utilizes a shoulder-mounted rotary Grenade Launcher, capable of firing multiple grenades in rapid succession. Both of its attack abilities are available at Rank 1, and both can be equipped simultaneously thanks to its two
Ability Slots.
Grenade Launcher: Triple Bomb targets a single enemy and strikes three times. With a Range of 1–4 and an Indirect Line of Fire, it can attack from almost any position on the battlefield, even through Blocking units.
Grenade Launcher: X Strike targets enemies in an X-shaped pattern. Unlike Triple Bomb, it deals a single hit to each target within its area of effect. This ability can be fired from anywhere on the battlefield and uses its own independent ammo pool, separate from that of Triple Bomb. However, with a 2-round magazine and 2-round ammo use, it can only be fired once before reloading. In addition, this ability cannot target
Air units.
The Heavy Grenadier progressively gains
Explosive resistance with promotions, reaching 65% at Rank 6, as well as minor
Piercing resistance. Nonetheless, it takes additional damage from
Fire attacks regardless of Rank.

Trivia[]
- Oddly, the Triple Bomb, which hits an enemy 3 times, has an audio clip of the grenade launcher being fired 5 times, while the X-Strike, which hits 5 squares, has an audio clip of the grenade launcher firing 3 times.
- Despite visibly wearing armor, the unit has no extra protection.
- Originally released in the 3.5 Patch, the only way to get this unit was to purchase the starter pack for GBP £2.99 or USD $4.99. As of the 4.6 Patch, with the arrival of a new starter pack unit (the Supreme Mini Tank), it can be trained at the Barracks for
40 Nanopods.
Updates[]
- Added to Barracks, permanently.
