"Hornets are known for their ability to kill, and this unit is no different. His sting is lethal. The Mini-Rocket Volley (Rocket Launcher) hits units at short to mid range. Damage will be done!"
The Hornet is a unit that costs 8Merits to train. This unit boasts plenty of damage potential with a decent amount of ammo and decent cooldown.
Despite its large area of attack, the 4 rockets can spread out or target a space multiple times, including empty spaces, even those off the battlefield. However, the player has no control of where the rockets will actually go and more often than not, the center targeted space is the focus of the rockets and will be struck by one or more rockets. However, there is still the chance that the rockets will deviate from the target. Sometimes the Hornet gets lucky and all 4 rockets will strike its intended target. On the flip side, all rockets can deviate from the targeted space and miss all enemy units completely.
In a sense, the Hornet is an upgraded Grenadier with the Handful of Grenades attack, except that the Hornet is available at a higher player levels, requires the Rocket Factory, and cost .
The Hornet's first attack hits air but this unit also has an extra anti air attack.
In the game files the Hornet is referred to as Fliegerhaust, which might be a mispelling of the word Fliegerfaust. The Fliegerfaust (lit. "plane fist"), also known as the "Luftfaust" (lit. "air fist"), was a prototype unguided, man-portable, German multi-barreled ground-to-air rocket launcher, designed to destroy enemy ground attack planes. The Fliegerfaust was not a successful weapon because of its small effective range caused by too large dispersion of projectiles, which also applies to the Hornet's attacks.
The rockets in his pouch instantly re-appear once he takes one.
This unit is probably a reference to real life stinger missiles.
