The Hunter is an Infantry unit that can be trained at the Barracks.
The Hunter's Compound Bow has high Offense and critical bonuses against Soldiers and Critters, as well as ability to shoot past any non-Blocking units due to its PreciseLine of Fire. It can also use multiple types of ammunition. However, all of the Hunter’s abilities share the same weapon, so using any ability triggers the weapon’s cooldown.
At Rank 3, the Hunter gains access to Compound Bow: Double Shot, which deals double damage. This attack consumes twice the ammo, has a 2-turn cooldown, changes the Line of Fire from Precise to Direct, and does not retain the critical bonuses of Aimed Shot.
At Rank 4, the Hunter gains access to Compound Bow: Fire Arrow. Its initial damage is lower than Aimed Shot, but the 3-turnFire damage-over-time effect increases total damage beyond that of Aimed Shot. The ability has a 3-turncooldown and can be particularly effective against some Critters, as they typically have lower Fire damage-over-time resistance.
At Rank 5, the Hunter gains access to Compound Bow: Poisoned Arrow. Like Fire Arrow, its initial damage is also lower than Aimed Shot, but the three-turn Poison damage-over-time effect increases total damage beyond that of Aimed Shot. Moreover, like Fire Arrow, the ability has a three-turn cooldown. Poisoned Arrow has a 5% lower critical hit chance compared to the Hunter’s other abilities.
