Overview[]

The Laser Tank is a premium unit costing  70 added in the 2.85 Patch along with the Laser Sniper. It is the player-trainable version of the Laser Tank. This version of the Laser Tank has 200 and 220 for a combined 420 . The Laser Tank unit is only available to players who are level 53 and have a level 4 Optics Facility. The tank has two attacks both having very low  Offense, at 28. The first attack is the 88mm Laser Cannon: Laser Blast, a normal laser attack that will do 80-120 damage to units within the range of 1-2 and has an armor piercing bonus of 90% and a crit chance of 75% against tanks. The second attack is the 88mm Laser Cannon: Penetrating Beam. This attack does lower damage at 56-84 but it will penetrate a row of units three units deep if they are not blocking. This has 100% armor piercing and a critical hit bonus on tanks of 35%.   Both of these attack have high armor piercing capabilities.  When attacking infantry the lasers from this tank sometimes miss or are even dodged when the tank has not suffered from any accuracy depressions.

For a tank, this unit is extremely fragile since it's health is lower than it's armor. Enemy armor piercing attacks are very dangerous as they avoid the armor and decrease the HP instead.  It also takes greatly increased damage from fire, making DoT attacks particularly effective. These vulnerabilities should be taken into account by players when choosing where to place the Laser Tank.

    Trivia[]

    • Despite the similarity of their in-game names, this Laser Tank has very different statistics from the "XT-04" Experimental Laser Tank.
    • The Laser Tank is the first unit to have more  Armor than  HP. Usually units have more  HP than  Armor but this is not the case for the Laser Tank.
    • The Railgun Tank looks very similar to this unit.
    • The vehicle employs a heavily-modified Medium Tank chassis.
