- "If you’re lucky enough to earn one of these bad boys from a battle with the Goliath Tank, you’ll soon forget how miserable you were without one."
- — 4.0 Patch Notes
Overview[]
The Phalanx Tank is a unit that has a chance of being obtained from defeating the Goliath Tank, a Rebel repeatable boss in the 4.0 Patch.
This unit is very hard to obtain because of its drop rate and the difficulty in beating the Goliath Tank. However, if one manages to win just 1 of these, by the time it is Rank 3+, it is one of the most powerful and resistant front line units, being able to withstand any currently existing attacks, while being able to attack the whole grid, from ground to air units.
Its highly resistant armor means opponents will have a hard time damaging this unit, while even stripping the armor will leave opponents a mountain to climb, trying to deplete the HP (because of the resistances). However, one must keep in mind that this unit only has partial blocking. This means that any unit with a precise line of fire (snipers, machine gun turrets, etc) can fire past the Phalanx Tank if there is a unit behind it.
It is debatable whether this drop reward is worse or better than the Ranged Sentinel Fragment, but if one has ever faced a Phalanx Tank in combat, one would never doubt its effectiveness/worth. An advised combat method would be to place the
Shatter effect upon it, or to set it ablaze with fire attacks.
Its current drop rate is 4%.

Trivia[]
- This is based off of the US Navy Phalanx CIWS, which fires 20 mm caliber shells at 4,500 RPM. The Phalanx CIWS was designed to destroy incoming anti-ship missiles, artillery shells, and rockets.
- Despite the fact that its attacks are called Incendiary Burst Rounds, there is no chance of inflicting
Fire DoT to enemies.
