Official Web Profile[]
Troopers that survive their first deployment receive a 2-hour crash-course in marksmanship and are immediately promoted to Sharpshooters. Deployed behind front-line units, Sharpshooters can turn the tide of a battle with their ability to take long-range shots at smug, high-value targets hiding in the back of enemy formations.
Imperial Sharpshooters are issued the M9 Designated Marksman Rifle, a bolt-action rifle in service since Emperor Conrad’s border wars a generation ago. A recent study conducted by the Office of Imperial Statistics found that at a distance of 20 feet, Sharpshooters were 37% more likely to hit the broad side of a barn than Troopers, due in large part to the Sharpshooters’ tendency to actually aim before pulling the trigger.
Particularly hated by enemy officers, Sharpshooters have a short life expectancy – which gave rise to their motto, “At least we’re not Troopers."
Overview[]
The Sharpshooter is a low-level soldier unit, and the first of the Sniper unit class type available to the player. At Rank 1, the sharpshooter has a decent 70 and deals 41-50 damage. This unit is able to deal its damage from the back row on the battlefield. The Sharpshooter is an invaluable asset when fielded, and a threat when they are among the enemy.
The cost in ,
and time is a small price to pay for a fair investment. However, the amount required for healing the Sharpshooter can cripple early nations' resource stockpiles and slow the Hospital queue if players are too careless with their Sharpshooters.
To unlock this unit in the Barracks, the player needs to complete the missions A Terrible Boar - Part 5 and How to Kill People From Quite a Long Way Away in addition to meeting the level requirement. These quests require a lot of resources and time, and it is recommended that the player builds two Boar Pens if the player wants to take advantage of the Sharpshooter as early as possible.
