Overview[]
The Specimen d04 "Archetype Stalker" is the strongest of the Stalkers that can be produced from the Infection Test Facility, the player can get one by infecting a Bio Grenadier, Laser Technician, Assassinater or demolitionist (1%).
The Stalker class of infected units have two attacks using their scythe for an arm. The first attack can only be used from the front line, and will swipe at the three spaces directly in front of the Stalker. This attack is particularly devastating to armored units as it practically bypasses their Armor. Against Tanks, 90% armor piercing pretty much ignores the -type reduction of tank Armor. Not only that, Stalkers have a bonus chance to land a critical hit against tanks, further helping offset the 25% reduction to -type damage tanks have beyond the Armor.
The second attack allows the Stalker to live up to its name and strike from the rear at more vulnerable targets. The wide-area of this attack gives the Stalker some flexibility at targeting units "hiding in front" of less desirable rear targets.
Unfortunately, due to the different ranges of the two attacks, Stalkers will only be able to use one attack during a battle, determined by the player's positioning of this unit. The Stalker can utilize both attacks after the player's front lines have collapsed, which is usually not a good sign for the Stalker's army.
