The Wimp is an Infantry unit that that was introduced in the 2.2 Patch.
At early ranks, The Wimp's effectiveness is minimal, making it easy to overlook in standard unit lineups. Its primary attack, Rifle: Bust a Cap, deals very little damage and has low Offense, resulting in lower average damage compared to even the basic Trooper, the first Infantry unit available in the game. However, it is designed to reward investment and strategic promotion, becoming a powerful option for players who commit resources to developing it.
At maximum Rank, The Wimp gains access to two additional abilities: Juiced Hook and Juiced Clap. Juiced Hook allows The Wimp to strike three adjacent spaces in the first row, which can be selected independently of its position. Juiced Clap functions as a column-based ranged attack, sending a shockwave down an entire column that can bypass blocking units. Both abilities have 50% armor piercing and increased critical chance against Soldier-type enemies. These attacks can only be performed from the front row. An additional Ability Slot also becomes available at this rank, allowing the unit to equip both of its attacks simultaneously. Consequentially, at maximum Rank, The Wimp takes additional damage from Fire-based attacks.
The Wimp is inexpensive to produce, has a short build time, and a low heal cost. Combined with its powerful late-game abilities, this makes The Wimp a deceptively formidable unit for turning what looks like a harmless foot soldier into a serious threat.
