Overview[]

The Wandering Samurai was a promotional unit that made its debut during Boss Strike 8, being able to have been acquired for a hefty sum of 90 Resource-nanopod Nanopods. This unit was available to be trained at the Barracks from March 28th, 2014 - April 3rd, 2014. It was re-released for one day on June 22nd 2015 for Resource-nanopod 68 as part of the Breaking Into the Vault! sale.

This unit has decent resistances to most attack types, only suffering from Damage fire Fire. It only has one status effect immunity, StatusEffect-stun Stun, enabling it to withstand the Boneshaking Cry of the Legendary Mammoth or the very similar Immobolize of the Ancient Sentinel, making it useful for higher level PvP and PvE encounters.

This unit has 3 Damage piercing Piercing attack types, all direct and deadly to both armored and unarmored infantry. Its first attack, 9 Slice Attack, has high Stat-Offense Offense even for low ranks, enabling it to take out that dodgy Commando or pesky Veteran. This attack also has good armor-piercing, enabling the Wandering Samurai to weaken that tough Mega Tank. This unit's second attack, Bamboo Slash, is great for taking out or doing significant damage to front-line infantry, like Brutal Brawlers or Chemical Troopers. This unit's last attack, Lunge, is great for penetrating all-tank front-lines and hurting squishy, unarmored infantry hiding behind them.

All in all, this unit boasts moderate resistances, a good amount of Stat-HP, some damage dealing (but indirect and mediocre on tough armored targets) attacks, and the Wandering Samurai can penetrate and, with the right support units, even cripple the toughest of armies. Not a front-line unit (it won't survive long there), but it sure does deserve a place in players' armies.

    Trivia[]

    • Though the Wandering Samurai's first attack has the name 9 Slice Attack, it only does damage x4, and not x9 like its attack name describes.
    • The Wandering Samurai was the jackpot prize for the 9th Secret Vault event , and the "Super Rare" prize for the 10th Secret Vault event.
